1977 Carlton Competition

24.5" frame, no WN7001232.

A 1977 Carlton Competition in the new style for that year, with CARLTON in block letters on seat and down tubes and on the forks.

This was a short-lived style, only lasting for 1977 and 1978.

The Competition model was sold as a frameset only. Colour options were Lilac or Royal Carmine.

Fitted with Alatet headset and Campagnolo ends.

Left is the seat tube with the Carlton logo in black edged white letters. The black and white bands had 'Craftsman Built' on the front.

Below can be seen the headstock with it's rather bland decal.

Bars are Cinelli with an engraved shim and Record stem.

Weinmann centre-pull front brake.

Bottom bracket bearing is FAG.

Cranks are a mismatch; left is a Stronglight and right chainwheel and crank are TA.

Gear lever is a Huret, so presumably had Huret derailleur.
