1964 Carlton Constellation

22.5" frame, number M7897

This frameset was purchased on Ebay in a fit of misguided enthusiasm. I thought it looked like a better quality model which is what I wanted. In fact, it is a style which I would really like to restore: all chromed with transparent copper acrylic painted over it. Carlton called this finish Acrilichrome.The effect can be seen where the paint still remains under the headstock badge. A very pretty, but probably not very durable, finish. On the seat tube can be seen faint traces of five bands. These would have been chrome, edged in white.
Original specification would have included: Weinmann side pull brakes Williams chain wheels Benelux, Campagnolo or Allvit gears GB stem and bars
