1960 Carlton Constellation

23" frame, number H8148

A typical Carlton frameset with Capella lugs. This one is a Constellation, slightly more expensive than the Catalinas

Saddle is a Lycett Swallow, a common fitment on Catalina and similar cycles in the Carlton range at that time.

The drop-outs are Cyclo.

This one was fitted with Weinmann centre pull brakes, side pull were standard.

Note the ACRILICHROME transfer on the seat stem. Acrilichrome was a finish that involved chrome-plating the frame and then painting with an acrylic flamboyant paint that let the chrome shine through.

Note also the lining on the seat stay eye.

The frame was obtained with another identical frame, number H8260
