1948 Carlton Super Python

20.5" frame number c15372

This Carlton was acquired from Ebay as a frameset only. Made from 531 tubing with nicely feathered lugs.

It had been painted with an epoxy black which I did not like. I had it repainted by Mercian Cycles in Butterscotch with black contrasts.

The decals were supplied by Nick at Lloyds Cycles.

Restoration is still under way.

Steering head with GB brakes and stem

 Chater Lea chainset and pedals

Hubs are Baylis and Wiley with Dunlop 26" alloy rims.

Cyclo/Benelux Derailleur for a 4-speed 1/8" freewheel.

Bottom bracket is the oversize Chater Lea with 5/16" balls. Crank, chainwheel and pedals are also Chater Lea. Pedals are the sprint type.

Brakes are GB Hiduminium.

Mudguards should be Cranalloy aluminium.
