1940 Carlton Super Sports

23" frame number B10135

Originally sold by Bache Bros of Lye, their transfer is on the top of the seat tube.

Frame is Reynolds 531.

Standard fitted brakes were monitor sidepull, but the rear has been replaced by a Resilion.

Flat handlebars. Terrys mattress saddle. Bluemels Noweight cream coloured mudguards.

Front hub is a British Hub Co. model.

Rear has a 3-speed Sturmey to which has been added a 2-speed Cyclo. The double sprocket is 25/13 teeth, a fierce jump for the chain.

The chainset is Williams, marked for 1939.

1940 Silver Clubman Charter saddlebag

The saddlebag is a Charter, made in Slough. Still contains 3 inner tubes, a John Bull repair outfit, a set of spanners including the Cyclo and Resilion spanners and a little ball of string.

Built for wartime use, it is fitted with a Lucas 'Masklite' dynamo lighting set.
